Hand-Picked Peach: Week 12

October 23, 2015 by Erika

You're a Peach

This week I don't have a product or film for you, but I want to encourage you to try something that is new to my life....yoga.

Earlier in the summer, I posted on Facebook that I was looking for an evening yoga class, something I could do after my husband got home.  All of the yoga classes in our area at the time were in the morning.  Well, this fall our local dance studio added an evening yoga class to its schedule and I am so enjoying it.

First, I get to listen to a podcast in a quiet car on the way there and back.  And second, I get an hour of quiet, calming music and stretching.  This is only the fourth week, but each week I feel a little more of a workout in my core.  I really try to keep my tummy tucked during the session.

Now, I know that only going once a week isn't going to get my pre-baby body back, but it is an awesome de-stressor and I do notice that I can stretch farther at each session.  I encourage you to find a yoga class near you or try Yoga for Beginners.  It is supposed to be one of the best videos for yoga beginners.

Hopefully adding yoga will add a bit of calm to your life too!

I went to a free yoga class earlier this year. They said it was all levels of experience, but when I got there, it seemed most people actually knew what they were doing! … It did not go well. Ha. I imagine it would be something I’d enjoy if I found the right class. A little relaxation would be nice 😉

I’m a complete beginner as are most of the people attending my class. The instructor said she has a more intense class in the mornings later in the week.
