Hand-Picked Peach: Week 13

October 30, 2015 by Erika

Hand-Picked Peach Post Header Web

Whew!  What a busy two weeks!  Last week was my birthday.  Then last weekend was L’s birthday party.  I drove (well, actually I rode) the three hours with one of my best friends this Tuesday for my first ever IKEA trip and I hosted my first book club meeting last night.  Tonight we are trick-or-treating and I’m one of those moms that thinks she has to make her kids’ costumes.  So, I say again, Whew!

Next week, things should be back up and running more like usual.  I have several posts already in the works, including my thoughts on turning 29, our new paint colors, a coffee area, and a great book!

This week I want to share with you another podcast, The Happy Hour.  Now, I had this podcast recommended to me before and I wasn’t thrilled with it.  Whenever I start a new podcast, I usually go back to the first episode if I can.  When I listened to the first episode of The Happy Hour, I wasn’t too impressed so I didn’t listen further.  That was my mistake.

After Jamie Ivey, The Happy Hour’s host, was interview on The Influence Network’s podcast, I decided to give The Happy Hour another shot.  I listened to more recent episodes and Jamie has really found her rhythm and has created a great podcast.  She’s interviewed amazing women including Jen Hatmaker (author and HGTV star), Jess Connolly (blogger and creator of Naptime Diaries), and Shauna Niequist (author of the devotional Savor and three other books).

Each podcast makes me laugh out loud and breathe a sigh of relief.  It’s easy to see these amazing women of God and see all of their success and feel that we will never be able to do it all, but The Happy Hour allows you to see that these women are humans too.  You get to feel like you’re just a girlfriend of theirs sitting down with a glass of wine and chatting after a long day.

Go ahead and add this soul refreshing podcast to your subscribed list.  You will thank me later!

Thanks for listening and giving me a chance beyond those first few episodes!! Ha! I kinda wish I could throw them all away, but I guess it’s all a part of the journey!

Oh holy cow! I’m a little starstruck that you even took a moment to read this! I do love your podcast now! I’ve only been blogging for a few months and I already wish I could delete some of my first posts, but like you said….its part of the process. Thank you so so much for commenting!
