Hand-Picked Peach: Week 2

August 14, 2015 by Erika

Hand-Picked Peach Post Header Web

This week’s peach is the movie Finding Normal.  I found this movie on Netflix and it is a few years old, but it really peeked my interest because it stars Candace Cameron Bure who is on fire right now with the release of her new book, Dancing Through Life, and with the upcoming release of the Netflix original series Fuller House.  Bure plays Dr. Lisa Leland who ends up having to spend time in the tiny town of Normal.  While she spends time in Normal she discovers things about herself that she had never realized before.

I really enjoyed this movie.  It is funny and romantic.  Because it is a Pure Flix film, you can rest easy in knowing the whole family can sit down to watch.  I loved that it starred Bure, a Hollywood star not afraid to talk about her faith.  And the final reason that I recommend this movie, a more minor point, is that nobody in Normal accepts credit cards (The other Dave Ramsey fans get it!).  I thought it was incredibly ironic that Dave always says, “Debt is normal, be weird.”  But debt isn’t Normal!  (See what I did there? Hehe!)

Make sure you add this movie to your queue!

I’ve had this in my queue for quite awhile… I’ve got to find time to watch it this week!

Also. I am super excited for Fuller House.

I discovered your blog through the Link Up party on Amanda Snodgrass’s blog and I’m happy to stumble across this post 🙂 I’ve wondered about this movie each times it’s come up on my Netflix feeds. I’ll have to be sure to add it to my queue and give it a watch. Thanks for the recommendation!
