Coffee Bar Reveal

November 25, 2015 by Erika

Full & Simple- Coffee Bar Reveal (4)

A few (Ok, several) weeks ago, I brought you four options for trays that I was considering for a coffee bar/area that I wanted to have set up before the holidays.  I finally picked one!

I've actually had the tray for a while now, but I was on the hunt for a milk glass cream and sugar set which I finally found at a local antique shop, so I can finally reveal the coffee bar to all of you!

I chose the Eloise tiered tray from Painted Fox Treasures.  I loved that the top looked like a hitching post and the antiqued finish.  Plus, it wasn't too big.  I didn't want anything too large because we already have a regular coffee pot and a Keurig Vue taking up counter space.

On the top tier I included coffee stirrers, paper straws and my raspberry syrup along with sugar packets.  I like to change the paper straws with the seasons.  We had orange and black for Halloween and I plan to add some red for Christmas.

The bottom tier includes a stainless steel milk frothing pitcher and frother from IKEA along with my new milk glass cream and sugar set.

I found the cute green peck basket on clearance at Micheal's.  It was the perfect size to hold all of my Vue cups.

When Cheddar's opened up in Bloomington, I tried their peach sweet tea and I fell in love.  Since I can't drive 45 minutes every time I want a peach tea, I have fallen in love with the Monin Peach Syrup (you can buy the pump here)!  I think I'm going to buy some strawberry next summer for lemonade.

I had originally wanted a "Little Coffee and a Whole Lotta Jesus" print hung on the wall too, but then I decided that with the tall tray and the syrup being so tall, that it would be hidden and possibly make the space too busy.  (I'm still not completely sure.  Let me know what you think in the comments!)

Now when we host guests for Christmas, I have Vue cups for hot cocoa and hot cider.  We'll have the coffee pot full.  I plan to add marshmallows in the milk glass creamer pitcher and like I said earlier, I'm going to use my paper straws to add some Christmas color.

What do you think?  What other things do you include in your coffee station?

Hand-Picked Peach: Week 9

October 2, 2015 by Erika

Hand-Picked Peach Post Header Web

Thanks to Pinterest, I have a ton of little projects all around my house that I want to complete.  And now that I’m home, I have more time to do them.  However, I have less money to do them. Hmmmm…..predicament.

Anyway, one project that I really would like to complete before we host family for the holidays is a beverage “bar” or area.  I am a coffee lover and now that it is getting cooler, I’m drinking more coffee during the day (I get my summer caffeine fix from flavored sweet tea).  For the holidays, I would love to have hot chocolate, coffee, and different add-ins available for my family and guests. And of course I want it all displayed beautifully and functionally!

That brings me to my peach pick this week.  In my “planning phase” of the coffee area, I’ve started to look at trays and containers to hold all of the choices and accoutrements (Yes, I’m trying to sound fancy.  And yes, I had to run that through spell check to get it right).  I don’t want all of my toppings and choices to take over my counter though, so I’m thinking I’ll probably go with something tiered.  Below you’ll find my top four choices right now for my coffee area.  (I couldn’t pick just one for the week. ?) What do you think?  Which one is your favorite?  Do you have a coffee bar at home?

1. The Timothy via Painted Fox 2. The Eloise via Painted Fox 3. The Apothecary via Painted Fox 4. The Ellsworth via Painted Fox
