Hand-Picked Peach: Week 30

February 26, 2016 by Erika

Hand-Picked Peach Header

It's Fuller House day!  This week's peach is Fuller House on Netflix.  Today is the first day of the first season of the Full House sequel series and I couldn't be more excited.

Over the past few year or so I have started to develop a bit of a girl crush on Candace Cameron Bure for her courage in taking on Hollywood by being very open about her faith.  And I remember loving Full House as a kid.  It is my hope that Fuller House will become a show that I love to watch with my kids and family.  We need more family appropriate TV in this world!  I feel like it's either cartoons or something that is inappropriate for my little repeater to see.  There is very little middle ground, but hopefully that is changing today.

Fuller House is supposed to be about DJ, Kimmie, and Stephanie all moving back together to raise DJ's kids after she becomes a single mom.  We will miss Michelle as the Olsen twins decided not to participate, and it is my understanding that Michelle is supposed to off in some foreign country working her dream job.

My only problem will be to not watch the whole season this weekend!

Hand-Picked Peach: Week 2

This week’s peach is the movie Finding Normal.  I found this movie on Netflix and it is a few years old, but it really peeked my interest because it stars Candace Cameron Bure who is on fire right now with the release of her new book, Dancing Through Life, and with the upcoming release of the Netflix original series Fuller House.  Bure plays Dr. Lisa Leland who ends up having to spend time in the tiny town of Normal.  While she spends time in Normal she discovers things about herself that she had never realized before.

I really enjoyed this movie.  It is funny and romantic.  Because it is a Pure Flix film, you can rest easy in knowing the whole family can sit down to watch.  I loved that it starred Bure, a Hollywood star not afraid to talk about her faith.  And the final reason that I recommend this movie, a more minor point, is that nobody in Normal accepts credit cards (The other Dave Ramsey fans get it!).  I thought it was incredibly ironic that Dave always says, “Debt is normal, be weird.”  But debt isn’t Normal!  (See what I did there? Hehe!)

Make sure you add this movie to your queue!
