Vintage Indiana is this weekend! I'm so, so excited (if you couldn't tell)! Last year was the first time that I had gotten to go to the Vintage Indiana Wine Festival, and I had a blast with my mom. This year, my husband and I and another couple are heading to Indianapolis to sample from the 25+ Indiana wineries that will be set up.
Last year, I learned a few tips and tricks to make the day more enjoyable. You can read all of those tips here. This year, I'm focusing on wardrobe. What to wear?!
I'm crying a little inside as I look at the forecast and see rain, but I'm holding out hope that we'll have clear skies! However, there is little doubt that the temps will be in the 80s, which means you need to wear something cool.
I found this romper at Target last week. It came in a few colors, but for me, you can't go wrong with classic black. Now, I know black can get hot, but this fabric is pretty light and I wore black last year without completely dying. I love that this romper can be elegantly casual for an event like Vintage Indiana or that I can dress it up with some heels and a statement necklace for a night on the town. Plus, again, since its black, its a classic color that won't go out of style any time soon.
Vintage Indiana is five hours long (longer if you buy the early admission ticket), so you are going to want to wear comfortable shoes. I love these Croc sandals that I got from Amazon. They are very comfortable, but still stylish enough to go with the romper. And I don't know about you, but I've always thought that any shoe with straps around the ankles are a little bit sexy, which when you're on a date with the hubby is always a good thing.
To finish the outfit off I'm going for simple jewelry. I love the engraved bar that I got when I was selling Stella & Dot jewelry. I got the ampersand on it as the idea of Full & Simple was being born and it is a physical reminder to live out my AND. I'm also wearing these Kate Spade bow earrings that my mom bought me for my birthday a few years ago. I also plan on taking this Stella & Dot Waverly crossbody bag to carry all of my essentials while leaving my hands free for tasting.
And we can't forget sunglasses and sunblock! There's nothing worse than being fried after a fun day outside, so make sure to use a high SPF. Remember....five hours! I'm still kicking myself for not snatching up a cute fedora at Target when I was there to also go with my look. Who knows? Maybe I'll still run and get one.
No matter what you wear, remember to responsible and courteous while visiting the Vintage Indiana Wine Festival. Don't drive if you've sampled too much and realize that there are other people wanting to enjoy the event too. If you are already going, have fun! If you haven't bought tickets yet, there's still time. Just go here!
